Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, completely free. You can convert up to 3 files per day without an account at full quality. Sign up for a free account to get more daily conversions, and upgrade to Pro for unlimited conversions with priority processing.
We support 13+ formats: OBJ, FBX, GLTF, GLB, STL, DAE (COLLADA), PLY, 3DS, BLEND, STEP (.step/.stp), IGES (.iges/.igs), USD (.usd/.usda), and USDZ. You can convert between any pair of these formats. Imports are validated and transforms are normalized so your model appears correctly in the target application.
Yes. Our converter automatically normalizes every model. It bakes object transforms, centers the model at origin, grounds it at Y=0, detects and corrects the up-axis (Y-up for glTF/GLB, Z-up for Blender/Max exports), and rescales extreme outliers. Whether your file comes from Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, Houdini, or Unreal Engine, the output will be clean and correctly oriented.
Your uploaded files are processed on secure servers and automatically deleted 1 hour after conversion. We do not store, share, or inspect your 3D models beyond what's needed for the conversion itself. All file transfers use encrypted HTTPS connections.
STEP and IGES are parametric CAD formats. Our converter transforms them into polygon meshes using OpenCASCADE. Complex solids with non-manifold geometry, extremely large assemblies, or corrupt files may fail. Try exporting a simpler selection from your CAD software first.
We use Blender's own import/export engine on the server to read .blend files and write them to your chosen format. This ensures full support for Blender-specific features including modifiers, material slots, and armatures. Make sure your .blend file was saved with all assets packed.
Texture coordinates (UVs) are preserved across all format conversions. Material properties are preserved to the extent the target format supports them. glTF/GLB preserves PBR metallic-roughness materials best, while OBJ preserves basic diffuse colors and texture references. For best material fidelity, convert to GLTF or GLB.
No software installation is required. The entire conversion process runs in your browser with our cloud backend handling the heavy lifting. No plugins, no extensions, no downloads. Just upload, convert, and download.
