Why Check Your UV Layout?

Avoid Texture Bleeding

Overlapping UVs cause texture bleeding and baking artifacts. Spot them instantly before they reach your final render.

Maximize Resolution

Wasted UV space lowers effective texture resolution. Measure usage to pack islands tighter and reclaim detail.

Multi-Tile Ready

Inspect every UDIM tile independently so you can validate complex multi-tile texture workflows.

How to Use the UV Layout Viewer

1

Upload Your Model

Drag and drop an OBJ, GLB, GLTF, FBX, DAE or PLY file that has UV coordinates.

2

Inspect the Islands

Each island is color-coded. Toggle overlap highlighting to flag any islands that share UV space in red.

3

Optimize & Re-check

Fix overlaps and improve packing in your 3D software, then re-upload to confirm the improved layout.

Frequently Asked Questions

A UV island is a connected group of UV faces separated from other faces by seams. Each island is a continuous patch that maps to a single region of texture space.
The viewer rasterizes every triangle into a fine grid and flags any cells covered by more than one island. Enable the highlight toggle to see overlapping islands highlighted in red.
Aim for 70% or higher. Lower usage means wasted texture resolution. Note that padding between islands for mip-mapping and bleeding is still recommended, so 100% is rarely achievable or desirable.
OBJ, GLB, GLTF, FBX, DAE and PLY files with UV coordinates. OBJ and GLB load instantly in your browser; other formats are processed securely on our servers.
Yes. Multi-tile models are detected automatically and you can switch between UDIM tiles to inspect each layout independently.
