Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve user experience, and provide information to the site owners. In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage (collectively "tracking technologies"). This policy explains what tracking technologies we use and how you can control them.

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

• Essential Cookies: These are strictly necessary for the core functionality of Geometry Labs. Without them, services like user authentication, session management, and free tier usage limiting cannot operate. The gl_usage cookie is used solely to deliver the service and prevent abuse (for example, rate limiting and protection against automated misuse of free tier limits), not for unrelated business logic. These cookies do not require consent under applicable law.
• Analytics Cookies: These help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. We use this data to improve our tools, fix bugs, and understand feature usage patterns. These cookies are set only with your consent.
• Preference Cookies: These remember choices you make, such as your theme preference, recently used formats, and tool settings, to provide a more personalized experience. These cookies are set only with your consent.

3. Cookie Table

The following table lists the specific cookies used on Geometry Labs:

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our site are set by third-party services:

• Google Analytics (Google LLC): We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors engage with our tools. GA4 uses first-party cookies to collect anonymized data including page views, session duration, tool interactions, and referrer information. IP anonymization is enabled by default in GA4, so IP addresses are automatically anonymized before being recorded or stored on Google servers. We do not send personally identifiable information to Google. Google Analytics data is retained for 26 months. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.
• Supabase Auth: When you sign in via OAuth (Discord or Google), those providers may set cookies for authentication purposes. Refer to their respective privacy policies for details.
• Stripe: Our payment processor may set cookies for fraud prevention and payment processing. Refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.

5. Cookie Consent and Management

Upon your first visit to Geometry Labs, a cookie consent banner is displayed allowing you to accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customize your preferences by category. Non-essential cookies (Analytics and Preferences) are disabled by default until you grant explicit consent via our cookie banner or preferences panel. You can change your preferences at any time:

• Via this page: Use the Cookie Preferences panel above to change your analytics and preference cookie settings at any time. Your choices are saved to your browser.
• Via our cookie banner: Clear the gl_cookie_consent cookie from your browser to reset consent and trigger the banner again.
• Via browser controls: Most browsers allow you to block, delete, or manage cookies through the Settings/Preferences menu. Instructions for common browsers:
  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari
  • Microsoft Edge
• Via Google Analytics opt-out: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data on all websites.

Please note that disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of Geometry Labs. Free tier usage limits and authenticated sessions rely on essential cookies to operate correctly.

6. Withdrawing Consent

You can withdraw your consent for non-essential cookies at any time. To do so:

• Delete the gl_cookie_consent cookie from your browser. The consent banner will reappear on your next visit, allowing you to change your preferences.
• Delete other stored cookies via your browser settings as described above.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

7. Local Storage

In addition to cookies, Geometry Labs may use browser local storage and session storage for certain features such as temporary file upload progress tracking, caching conversion results for the current session, and UI state persistence. Local storage data is not sent to our servers automatically and does not expire. It is cleared when you clear your browser data or when the site's logic explicitly removes it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our use of tracking technologies or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
