Our converters support 13+ 3D file formats: OBJ (.obj), FBX (.fbx), GLTF (.gltf), GLB (.glb), STL (.stl, binary and ASCII), DAE/COLLADA (.dae), PLY (.ply), 3DS (.3ds), BLEND (.blend), STEP (.step/.stp), IGES (.iges/.igs), USD (.usd/.usda), and USDZ (.usdz). Texture tools support PNG, JPG/JPEG, TIFF, BMP, TGA, HDR (.hdr), and EXR (.exr) image formats.
Yes. Our conversion engine automatically normalizes every model: it bakes object transforms, centers the model at origin, grounds it at Y=0, detects and corrects the up-axis (Y-up for glTF/GLB, Z-up for Blender/Max exports), and rescales extreme outliers. Whether your file comes from Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, Houdini, or Unreal Engine, the output will be clean and correctly oriented.
Your files are processed on secure cloud servers and automatically deleted within 1 hour of upload. We do not store, share, or inspect your 3D models beyond what's necessary for the requested operation. All file transfers use encrypted HTTPS connections. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.
No software installation is required whatsoever. All tools run entirely in your browser with our cloud backend handling the heavy processing. No downloads, no plugins, no extensions, just open the tool page and start working immediately from any modern browser.
Free users can upload files up to 50 MB. Basic subscribers get 100 MB, Pro subscribers get 500 MB, and Team subscribers get 1 GB per file. For extremely large assets, we recommend splitting work across multiple files or upgrading to a Team plan.
Texture coordinates (UVs) are preserved across all format conversions. Material properties are preserved to the extent the target format supports them, glTF/GLB preserves PBR metallic-roughness materials best with full texture reference chains, while OBJ preserves basic diffuse colors and texture references via MTL files. For best material fidelity, convert to GLTF or GLB. STL format does not support UVs, materials, or textures.
Yes, output files generated by Geometry Labs tools are yours to use in any project, commercial or personal, with no attribution required. We do not claim any ownership or rights over your converted or generated files. See our Terms of Service for full details.
Geometry Labs works on all modern browsers: Chrome 90+, Firefox 90+, Safari 15+, and Edge 90+. For best performance, we recommend the latest version of Chrome or Firefox. Mobile browsers are supported for most tools, though some texture and mesh tools are optimized for desktop use.
We run Blender's import/export engine on our cloud servers to read .blend files and write them to your chosen target format. This ensures full support for Blender-specific features including modifiers, material slots, armatures, shape keys, and collections. Make sure your .blend file was saved with all external assets packed or that textures are embedded.
